Veneers

Patients with misshaped, stained, or chipped teeth could be helped with the application of dental veneers.  Dr. Wright can also treat gaps in the teeth with veneers.  By bonding a thin shell of tooth-colored material to the front of a tooth or several teeth, the color, shape, size, or length can be enhanced or corrected.

The color of the veneer is easily matched to the color of the natural teeth, making the restoration almost indetectable to other people.  If choosing composite resin material, the veneer can most likely be applied in one office visit.  Not only are they easy to apply or fix if damaged, but composite resin veneers are also less expensive than other veneers.  Dr. Wright can help you decide which type is best for you.

Porcelain veneers are stronger and do not stain easily, although are a little more expensive.  Deciding which one is better may depend on the position of the restoration in the mouth and the desired results of the patient.

Both types of veneers are custom-made to fit the tooth (or teeth), and they require less of the enamel to be removed for bonding (such as for caps or crowns).

Dr. Mack Wright in Urbana, Ohio, is an expert in tooth restoration.
