Emergency Dentistry

Dental emergencies can be scary.  Do you know what to do?  All dental emergencies happen during normal office hours, right?

If you have a dental emergency, call Dr. Mack Wright right away at 937-652-4111.  Even if it happens at night or on a weekend.  If during office hours, our staff will be able to get you in as soon as possible.  If no receptionist is available, instructions will be on the recorder for reaching Dr. Wright for instructions or an emergent visit.

A visit to the emergency room typically involves a long wait and expensive co-pay.  Chances are that the ER doctor will just tell you to see a dentist, but in extreme situations, they can offer pain relief and advice on whether a dentist evaluation is needed right away.

Minor dental injuries are okay to treat with NSAIDs or acetaminophen and waiting until our office opens again.  If the tooth has been completely dislodged, try to place the tooth back into the socket and gently hold gauze on it to keep it in place while getting to the office.  Be very careful not to swallow the tooth.  If it will not fit back into the socket, place it in a small container with clean water or milk.
