Dr. Mack Wright offers removable dentures and partials to return normal eating and speech to patients who have lost one or more teeth.  Being removable makes it easier to clean but as with any oral appliance, it will be custom-made to fit the mouth.  Adjustments will be made after delivery to make sure it is comfortable.  Additional adjustments can be made for any resulting irritation.

Dentures are made for patients with an entire row of teeth missing or that need to have the remaining teeth in that row removed due to damage or infection.  It can be the top or bottom row or both rows.

Partials are made to fill in gaps from several but not all missing teeth in one row.  The replacement teeth are mounted onto a framework that is fit around the remaining teeth to hold them in place.

Cleaning dentures and partials consists of brushing them gently at bedtime and placing them in water overnight.  Most patients prefer to add effervescent cleaners to the water for deeper cleaning.  The dentures should always be in water when removed from the mouth to prevent drying and cracking.

Removal is recommended overnight for a couple of reasons.  One is that the mouth has a natural cleansing process involving the saliva and the tongue.  Sleeping without dentures also gives the mouth time to rest.
